I found this amazing piece in an old ‘Science of Mind’ booklet from June 1993. It felt important to share given the turbulent times we continue to face. We are also moving into the holiday season where we would normally spend time with our families. It will be challenging indeed.
I hope this article brings you some peace.
Wise words on non-reaction:
In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer. –John 16:33
Love, peace and harmony reign supreme. The bible text quoted above teaches you not to react to events, but to act from the centre of peace within your own being.
Remember; that which is within you is greater than that which is in the world. The key to balanced effective living is to maintain quiet within yourself.
The world will continue to spin without me spinning.
No matter how turbulent the storm may be there is an eye at the centre of the hurricane, where all is calm and still. No matter how much activity and confusion may be around you, if you go to the stillness at the centre of your being you will find peace and strength there, and you will have dominion over every aspect of you life, inner and outer. No one can ever say or do anything to upset you when you act from the centre of your True Self.
Calm, quiet, peace, silence. Deep within you is the centre of peace, harmony and balance. In becoming still and knowing the inner Presence is God, you are free from all distraction and confusion as you dwell in the secret place of the most high.
Drink deeply of the wellsprings of spirit. Let the healing waters flow through you cleansing and purifying, freeing and releasing you from anything and everything unlike the nature of God.
‘The infinite alone hath wrought and suffered’, wrote Emerson. ‘The infinite lies stretched in smiling repose.’
