“Is it possible to:
DO nothing and BE everything?”
– Cheryl Hiebert
It’s the first week of September with the back to school feeling in the air. Along with this feeling can come some feelings of pressure. I have witnessed many posts on social media encouraging us to hustle, strategize, shift your mindset etc. While this might be helpful for some, what I have heard most from the people I have connected with recently is this: it doesn’t feel like the right time to do so – not quite yet. They don’t feel like pushing hard right now. And the truth is, we have all been through a lot the past six months.
So what do we ‘do’ right now? (Did you see my quote above? It might be your answer.) I still hear clients and students telling me they don’t feel like “peopling” or hustling right now. They would rather:
· sit by the water
· read a book
· go for a walk in the forest
· work in the garden
· sew, knit, paint, paddle
Each of us will find our way. Let’s do so without feeling guilt for not doing enough or working harder than we feel ready for. Be gentle with yourself and those around you. I hear you and I feel it too!
We are still in a time of shifting and healing; becoming more and more aware of what is truly important in our lives:
· wanting to live a life with meaning
· following our true calling
· spending more quality time with family and friends
· living a life aligned with values
· regenerating, rethinking, re-evaluating
So this week I am here to tell you to feel it all and be okay with whatever is coming up for you. It is all valid and necessary. You are not being lazy. You are creating space for creativity, possibilities and growth. Trust this. Allow yourself to reach out for support, love and feedback too. I am here for you!
