We often focus on what we can see with our eyes; the physical body.
However, we have another very important aspect to who we are: the chakras. These seven energy centres are the spiritual anatomy of the body; just as real as our arms and legs, but we can’t see them. This anatomy controls the flow of subtle energies in the body. In Sanskrit chakra means ”wheel” or “circle.” They symbolize the connection between the physical and the spiritual aspects of who we are.
These seven energy centres or chakras each have their own unique qualities, and are located from the base of the spine to the top of the head. Each of the seven centres represents major areas in our lives. When we have a deeper understanding of these energy centres, we can look more deeply within and know how to begin to restore balance in life.

Each chakra roughly corresponds to a location in the physical body. And similar to the hard drive in our computer, the chakras take in information and give it back to us as well. The chakras code our experiences in their energies, just as memories are coded in our neurons. An imprint of every emotionally significant experience event we have ever experienced is believed to be recorded in the chakras. Each chakra regulates distinct aspects of our personality, is associated with particular functions within the body and with specific life issues and how we handle them. The chakras reveal how this history of events in our life that can show up in physical symptoms. These symptoms could be emotional, physical, mental or spiritual.
Chakras can get clogged, blocked or out of balance for many reasons; physical or emotional trauma, a negative situation or person, or a physical illness. For example: an argument with someone, a confrontation, falling down and hurting yourself, a relationship ending, heartbreak, betrayal, or getting the flu – any of these life circumstances can affect us not only physically, but emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
When any of the chakras are out of balance it throws the whole system off. Like the engine of a car, if any aspect is not in sync the car does not run as efficiently… the same idea applies to the chakras. Imbalances may be temporary because of a situational challenge or they might be chronic in nature; which could come from past pain or stress, or childhood experiences.
Understanding the chakras is critical to understanding ourselves and those around us, and gives us a different way of looking at the world. I encourage you to book chakra clearing and balancing session with me. It’s a great way to move into the spring lighter and more on track.
“The chakra clearing helped out tremendously – I feel so much lighter. I was really surprised that I was still referring to myself as “being sick”. I have been trying to be really aware of how I think, feel, talk and act since our session.”
