The oh so precious lymphatic system in the body keeps us clean from the inside.
You may have heard of lymph nodes. We often hear of this type of cancer in the body. The lymphatic system is our toxic waste removal system. It is the drainage network that maintains the body’s fluid balance and cleans up the accumulated toxins we take in daily from our food, water, the air and our environment. It is essential for protecting the body from disease and pathogens.
We know that the heart is responsible for pumping blood thought the entire body – we don’t even have to think about it. But the lymphatic system, however, needs our help. If we don’t move our body regularly the toxins build up and we begin to feel unwell. We may have symptoms of toxic overload that show up as constipation, rashes, skin issues, headaches, moodiness etc.
So how can we gently keep the lymphatic fluid moving so toxins leave the body:
- Epsom salt baths (two cups per bath)
- Dry brushing
- Deep breathing
- Rebounding (mini trampolines)
- Lymphatic self massage (learn this technique with me)
- Herbal teas
- Water
- Massage therapy
- Yoga postures (such as legs up the wall)
- Regular movement (walking etc.)
And learn how to do an excellent job of moving the toxins out of the body with a self lymphatic massage as part of your daily routine. Have a private session with me or attend the 5-minute wellness routine workshop on July 16 where you will learn this massage technique! It only takes 1-2 minutes per day.
