Self reflection is where I spend a lot of time. Personal growth and doing my best to be my authentic self is important to me. Most recently I wondered about how much I had truly stepped into my own life. These are some of the questions I asked myself, and now I share them with you.
Are you truly committed to your life; to the people in your life, to your job; to YOUR SELF? Are you taking care of your body temple, are you fully engaged in your job of choice…or is there always a lingering one foot in, one foot out?
Have you fully landed?
- In your body
- In your current life
- In the home you live in
- In your job
- In your relationships
- In your partnership
Is your job ‘okay’ but you’re always looking for something better? Are you scanning for someone better to partner with? Are you simply ‘existing’ in each of these situations until something or someone better comes along? My sister and I coined BTN as the ‘better than nothing’ acronym for settling rather than choosing well.
Do you have a home yet always dream of a bigger better one? I frequently hear people share they want a family and now they feel resentful they have no freedom. Is that a reflection of being ‘all in’ or not? Do you love your body when you look in the mirror after a shower or do you curse it; always looking to change it and fix it. Maybe you have gotten used to looking outside yourself for quick fixes that make you feel better temporarily.
All of this isn’t intended to make us feel badly…but to help us look more deeply into our life choices. May I suggest we all consider really stepping into what exists for us right now.
By looking within…
we can see where our true beauty and essence reside.
Marketing campaigns are designed to make us want more, bigger, better, to look young forever – all to make us feel unhappy, unworthy and less than. This creates an unrealistic reality for us to strive for. It’s exhausting and stressful. This is why we are so unsatisfied with what we have right now.
Can we shift gears right now – and learn to BE PRESENT…? Can we learn to love all areas of our lives? Right now; today!
Can you say to yourself – I step in and claim myself. I am in my body now. I embrace all of me; my body, size and shape, my age, my gifts and talents, my quirks and idiosyncrasies. I now embrace and accept my home, my job, my partner – as they are right now.
Something to consider – we cannot manifest ‘better’ until we love who we are and love what we have right now. We ‘get’ something better when we truly accept what we already have.
What if you took a chance…and tried this way out for a while…—fully stepping into your life!! Won’t you try this with me?
