This week I discuss how to naturally boost your immune system. Our immune system is designed to combat colds and viruses naturally, however, sometimes we get off track in our wellness and this innate biological intelligence needs some extra support. Please know we can positively or negatively affect this powerful aspect of who we are.
As we move into the fall it is normal for the flu virus to being to circulate as the kids return to school. We have heard a lot about gloves, mask, shields, hand sanitizers, hand washing and distancing as preventative measures.
There are other important aspects to consider in supporting our amazing immune system:
What negatively affects the immune system?
Stress, no sleep, poor quality foods, no exercise, conflict, fear, no loving support. (and much more)
Let’s take a look at ourselves from the holistic mind, body, and spirit perspective and discover what positively affects the immune system:
Physical (our actual body) – vitamins; especially D intake, walking, exercise, breath work, moving the body with dance, sunlight, staying grounded, eating healthy whole fresh foods.
Emotional (how we feel) – feeling safe, intimacy, love, connection, spending quality time with loved ones, feeling supported, having someone to really talk to when you need to.
Mental (what we think about) – talk about how you are feeling, journal, take a break from devices, news and TV, shift out of fearful thought patterns to ones of love and peace as often as you can.
Spiritual (our belief system in God or a Higher Power) – meditation, Yoga, time in nature, silence, quiet, unity, community.
I love what Dr. Christiane Northrup has shared over the past few months: “Community is Immunity”
Remember to reach out for support. I offer a wide variety of sessions and workshops that have been created to support your wellness and personal growth. (And please share this newsletter with others to help support them too.)
