What is the ‘divine feminine”?
As human beings, no matter how we identify, we are all a combination of the divine feminine and divine masculine – we have both energies within us. We have a masculine side and a feminine side to us. You may have heard terms such as: yin and yang, Shiva and Shakti, solar and lunar. Our human body represents both energies: feminine energy on the left side and masculine energy on the right.
Feminine energy is known as nurturing, compassionate, gentle, patient, receiving, accepting, forgiving, intuitive and healing. Masculine energy is known as more action oriented, giving, knowing what needs to be done and gives you courage to fulfill your life purpose.
Here are 6 ways to access and connect to your Divine Feminine essence on a regular basis:
1. Connect to the ultimate in the Divine Feminine – our amazing Mother Earth.
Being grounded and getting our feet in the soil, especially in the spring season is amazing. After being cooped up all winter we crave this connection. This is why we feel so good when we walk in the forest, or walk in the sand and or salt water. It connects us in a primal way and literally opens up channels in the body that allow the energy of stress to leave through the bottoms of the feet.
2. Create a sacred space for yourself.
This can be a table beside your favourite chair, nightstand or an entire room you set aside for quiet time. The space can include sacred items that remind you what is important to and keeps you present. Healing stones, pictures of loved ones, statues, books, items obtained in your travels etc. Often called an altar, this is a place to set intentions, dream, meditate, journal, get quiet, chat, or do Yoga. Invite the Divine Feminine healing energies into your space to heal and balance you.
3. Tap into your intuition.
Our intuition is the part of us that knows when to bring an umbrella to work even though the skies are sunny. We make choices and decisions with confidence, follow and trust our inner directive, dream new ideas and goals into our life, big-picture thinking, clairvoyance and seeing the future. It can be connected to our gut instinct that tells us when we are not safe or in danger.
4. Regularly practice self-care rituals and practices that nourish and sustain you.
What fills your well back up? A walk in the forest, an epsom salt bath, a day at the spa, meditation, yoga, going to the gym, lighting candles more often, time with friends, herbals teas, or intimate time with your lover. Find out what sustains and makes you feel amazing – and do plenty of it!
