The fall is definitely here. Cooler nights and warm sunny days, with gorgeous foliage colours. Time to walk in the crisp leaves with cozy sweaters and sip hot tea. This season also means shorter days and less sunlight. That is why I share a few tips with you this week.
4 ways to stay healthy during the fall season:
1. Nourish your body with seasonal foods. Support your immune system with more soup and broths brimming with local organic root vegetables, spices and herbs.
2. Practice mediation and relaxation / mindfulness techniques. Now is the time to add in some new tools to your wellness toolbox. We tend to slow down a bit during this time and need a way to release stress. Learn meditation and breath work, take long baths and curl up with a new book or two.
3. Restful sleep in tune with the natural cycles of nature is important as the days get shorter. Sleep hygiene is essential.
4. Add in more fats to your diet to keep your body fed and moisturized from the inside out. Grass fed butter, coconut oil and sesame oils are great. Add them to your oatmeal, veggies and even give yourself a lovely massage. (oiling the bottoms of your feet can be very grounding at this time of year)
